Therapy is a process of meeting a professional therapist over one or more meetings in a closed and confidential setting, to navigate & resolve problematic behavior, belief, feelings, relationships and/or somatic responses to reach the maximum potential of oneself and overall well-being in our lives.

Therapy can be for people who feel inhibited or disabled due to any mental or emotional issues.  Anyone who needs overall development or has a willingness to explore their emotions or thoughts can also benefit from therapy.

Counselling is a continuous process where our counsellors will use the psychological framework to facilitate insight and awareness to bring clarity through issues from past present and future to help you discover your own answers.

Manam has a facility in Bhubaneswar, which provides both online and offline sessions as per the client’s requirements. The setting is private, confidential and professional. It is designed for individuals, couples, groups and family.

Our therapy sessions are designed across all age groups, genders and class.

A therapist is a licensed counsellor or psychologist who can use over 100 counselling techniques to help you treat mental health symptoms and improve disabling conditions of mental and emotional issues. A Psychiatrist is a Medical/ Clinical doctor who can diagnose different Mental Health conditions and prescribe medication to treat mental health disorders.

Yes, Manam’s counsellors are available online and offline for national and inter-national consults.

Yes. It is our top priority to maintain confidentiality from identity to personal records to interactions. Encourages clients to come with at least one family member/ friend/ Relative to protect the client if there is a suicidal ideation or self-harm.

After connecting with Manam, these are the steps:

  1. Registration at Manam ( Fill up a registration form provided to you and make the payment of Rs 600 )
  2. History Taking Session ( A therapist will connect to make you comfortable to share present issues and history leading up to it. This is included in the registration cost)

Charges of the sessions depend entirely on the Nature of concern, No of sessions and the Therapeutic tools used.

The therapist is in the best place to inform you on the number of sessions you require as per your condition. You are encouraged to ask your therapist on the number, rhythm & duration of the sessions.

Your therapist will guide you looking at your symptoms if there is a requirement for medication.

Generally, there is no need to involve the family in personal therapy. In some cases there is a requirement of interaction with family members in the best interest of the client, however this happens only if the client feels necessary or is convinced.

Psychiatrists and Psychologists are both concerned with helping people optimize their mental wellness, and are trained in a variety of treatment modalities. The best place to start is with a practitioner you feel comfortable speaking to. They’ll listen to your reasons for seeking help, assess your symptoms, evaluate your medical, psychiatric, and family history, and help you decide on a course of action moving forward.  Additionally, Psychiatrists and Psychologists often refer patients to each other.

Therapists create a safe space for you to express, explore, be aware and gain an insight to your own life. Based on your context, therapist will attempt to understand your life and facilitate better coping mechanisms.

Yes. It is completely your choice to discontinue your session as and when you feel. However, It is advisable to consult with your therapist and be transparent about the reason to do so. This will help the therapist to understand your position and guide you accordingly.

Yes. Both can refer to each other as per the requirement of the client.

Professional counsellors are trained with skills and competencies to listen, attend, observe, focus, reflect and interpret in a facilitative process with you. Despite that if you feel unheard and unattended you can report to Manam’s administration for switching your counsellor.

The therapist will know your context by understanding your family background, cultural background, religious background, beliefs and worldview and help you accordingly. This will be a continuous process over the sessions that you engage.

It is only natural to find it difficult to express emotions when we are disturbed and we respect that each person is unique in their own way. So, the therapist is equipped to explore different therapeutic methods to make you confident and feel safe.

No, there isn’t any formal preparation required. Be comfortable and feel free to express yourself.

Manam has a day care facility and has created a safe & r.elaxed ambiance to spend some time away from all stress & triggers.

The therapist will be the best person to guide you on this.

Please check with your insurance agent/ company. He will be able to guide you best.

Yes. Students can avail of a subsidy with Manam fees.

Manam is an NGO and has provision for providing services to those from weaker economic backgrounds. You have to produce the necessary documents to enroll in the free category service.

Session fees have to be paid before a session. If the cancellation is before 24 hours, the fees will be adjusted in the next session. Any cancellation less than 24 hours will be chargeable.
